PSP Diagonal Scanline Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how to make a blend on Paint Shop Pro. I used PSP 8, but it should work for other PSP programs.

First open Paint Shop Pro. I'll be using this image:

Paste it (CTRL+V) on Paint Shop Pro. Your screen should look like this:

Then, create a new image. (File>New) Set the width and height to 5px as shown below.

Zoom in on the small 5x5 image and use the brush to make 5 little blocks in a diagnol pattern. I used black as my color, but any other is fine.

Now go back to the Chomby image. (Note: Don't delete the block image!!) Go to Layers>Create New Raster Layer. If a pop up box appears, click okay. This screen should then pop up:

Set your properties to the one above. You can change the opacity as much as you like. Click OK when complete.

Click the fill tool (Or press 'F') Then, click on the box as shown in the picture under 'Materials'.

At the top where it reads 'Pattern', select the diaganol line pattern. Make sure the angle is at zero!

Click on your image and ta-da! You have snazzy sophisticated lines!
